I do not have any idea how many wild flowers there are,but what grows as weed in our own gardens are a display of color and beauty in the bush. The wild flowers also give away the seasons of the year and most of the Arican wild flowers are of medisinal value and has been used by native tribes and people for generations now to make medicine to heal lots of illnesses.
One example is the blue waterlilly ( Nympae nouchali) that we found in most of our waterholes. These waterlillies are customed to be used for antisepticum and aslo for bladder and kidney problems, skin problems and many more. So they are not just excusite beauties in the bush, wild flowers do serve a very important purpose.
